Phil Brown talks rubbish and looks like a famous actor
First of all, does anyone agree with me that Hull City manager Phil Brown looks a bit like English actor Hugh Lawrie?
Now onto more pressing matters. Phil Brown has today claimed Hull will be playing in Europe in the near future. I know, I laughed too.
"A European place would be the ultimate aim, either through winning a trophy or by way of standing in the Premier League ... How long that would take, I've got my personal ambitions. All I can say is that it will be in the near future." said the former Blackpool right-back.
Not meaning to be too disrespectful to Brown (cause I quite like the guy), but he's talking shite. This is the same Hull side who escaped relegation by just a single point only last Sunday and now he thinks they can challenge for Europe in the near future. Come on. Let's be realistic Phil, Hull will be very lucky to escape relegation next season, let alone qualify for bloody Europe.
What do you think? Do Hull have what it takes to qualify for Europe in the near future or do you agree that Brown is just talking rubbish? Comments below please.

Travel back in time two years... Hull City have just narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship. Manager Phil Brown and new chairman Paul Duffen predict promotion to the Premiership within three years. Ridiculous, right?

Yeah, but come on, there not in the Championship any more.

His coment was that it was Hull City's ambition to play in Europe in the very near future.
Isn't that most PL team's aims?
Should he, at an event designed to raise the profile of the club and attract investment have said "our aim is a slightly less tight relegation fight" - That's really the kind of ambition that will attract investors and players.
You have just said it yourself - they're not in the championship any more. So their goals should be PL goals.
Hull City just finished 17th in the league. What happened to the team that finished 17th last season? Oh that's right.
They just qualified for Europe.
Silly Brownie.

Well spotted. That's because they did the seemingly impossible.
Fulham qualified for Europe this season. Last season they only avoided relegation right at the last minute.

ySeeing Phil Brown was equally crap at Bolton W, he's smoking some damn good weed to qualify for Europe next season :)

What is this, as a football corner fan i feel i have to comment on this, Mr. Breathnach what is with the foul language? with the way the F.A cup and carling cup are going Hull could easily get into europe, or even do a Manchester City job and get the "Fair play" award. And why has the actor in this blog personally i LOVE your blog when you address football matters and think you should leave your bad sense of humor out of your wonderfull site. HULL FOR EUROPE. hahaha

We would have been in the semi-final of the FA Cup if it was not for a poor match official. Is that not one step of a European place??
