Benitez to place £20 million summer signing on the transfer list?

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is ready to put £20 million summer signing Robbie Keane on the transfer list after what can only be described as a shocking five months for the player. The Republic of Ireland international moved to Anfield in July after spending six successful years at Tottenham, however since his move Keane has struggled for goals and could be on his way out when January arrives.

The 28-year old has made 19 appearances for the Merseyside club, scoring just 4 goals in the process. Much was said about Keane and Torres' partnership up front for the Reds, however there chances together have been limited due to recurring hamstring injuries for the Spaniard. Keane is likely to be rested for Liverpool's trip to Blackburn this afternoon which I'm sure he won't be too happy with.

Although Keane has struggled for goals since joining Liverpool in the summer, it hasn't been for lack of effort. I almost get the feeling he is trying a bit too hard to impress and I think he just needs to relax and hopefully the goals will come from him. Personally I hope Benitez keeps faith with Robbie because I have no doubts he will turn out to be a good player for the Reds over the coming months.

I think Keane will eventually come good for Liverpool, but do you? Well he costs just £7 million in this season's "You the Manager" and may be worth a look. So follow the link below to enter your team to be in with a chance of winning some terrific weekly and monthly prizes.
