Spurs set to sign England defender and also line up Spanish midfielder
According to reports in today's Daily Mirror, Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is interested in bringing Valencia midfielder David Albelda to White Hart Lane on a free transfer in the summer.
The club are also close to signing Middlesbrough defender Jonatan Woodgate after the clubs agreed a fee of £7 million for the England international.
The former Real Madrid player has become increasingly frustrated with life under Gareth Southgate at Boro and is interested in a move away from the club, with Spurs the most likeliest of destination's now for the 28-year old.
Meanwhile, Spurs are also monitoring the current situation at Spanish giants Valencia in relation to the possibility of signing David Albelda. The player was told a couple of weeks ago that he could leave the club and he has been linked with moves to the Premier League including, Chelsea, Fulham and Everton.
I believed if Ramos was to sign both players it can only be good for Spurs. There is no doubt Spurs need to strengthen in the defence with the side leaking goals from all directions and I feel Woodgate could become a key part of the side.
