Spurs join City and Boro in the race to sign Brazilian ace

According to today's Guardian, Tottenham have joined the race to sign Lyon striker Fred.

The player has been told by club officials that he can leave the club and many clubs have expressed an interest in him including Manchester City and Middlesbrough.

Fred has spent most of this season on the bench for the French Champions and he recently expressed a desire to leave the club and the club have accepted that.

It is believed that whoever wants to sign the Brazilian international will have to cough up at least £10 million and if Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov does leave the club, Fred wouldn't be too bad a replacement.

I really hope Fred joins the Premier League because I saw him a couple of times last year and he looks quality. He scores loads of goals and works hard for the team and at £10 million isn't a rip off.
