Keegan chases Chelsea star

According to various papers today, Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan is chasing Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Wright-Phillips used to work under Keegan at Manchester City and Keegan is said to be very keen on making him his first signing at St James' Park.

Wright-Phillips left City almost three years ago now and has only played just over 70 games in that period. Many people questioned Wright-Phillips decision to join the Blues in the first place and many people felt he needed to move to get more first-team football.

Wright-Phillips was a fantastic player whilst at City but unfortunately it hasn't worked out the way he would of liked at Stamford Bridge. He has starting playing some decent stuff in recent weeks but no where near his best. I feel it would be a good move for both player and club.

I think Mourinho goofed on SWP despite all his achievements at the bridge.
He is a fantastic player and we, chelsea fans, were ecstatic when he was brought to chelsea. The subsequent decline in form was because he was made to sit on the bench for some reasons by Mourinho. Look at his performance now that he is getting plating time and you will agree with me that SWP is a quality player and so there is no need to sell.
