Hammers line up England ace as well as African star

According to today's Daily Mirror, West Ham are lining a double swoop for Reading full back Nicky Shorey and Bolton attacking midfielder El Hadji Diouf.

Shorey has been linked with a move away from the Madejski to a higher profile club after his solid performances at left back both this and last season.

With Nicolas Anelka already looking Chelsea bound, times could be getting even harder for The Trotters as The Hammers are also set to enquire about controversial winger, El Hadji Diouf.

There have been rumours of a possible part exchange deal involving Bobby Zamora and £1 million in exchange for Shorey's services. I personally think that The Royals would be getting the shorter end of the straw in this particular deal.

As for Diouf, it is thought that Gary Megson will accept nothing less than £6 million for the Senegal international, money that will be used to strengthen the Bolton squad
