Injury blows for Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea

Arsenal striker Thierry Henry will miss his team's opening Champions League group match with Swedish side FC Thun. The French striker picked up his injury during France's World Cup qualifier with Ireland last Wednesday and in the game he scored the winning goal for France. Henry was a big loss for Arsenal as they lost 2-1 at Middlesbrough, with Wenger admitting that they missed the killer touch in front of goal.

Newcastle new £9.5million striker Albert Luque has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks after he picked up a hamstring injury in only his second game for the club against Fulham.Newcastle boss Graeme Souness said: "It is a proper one - he said he felt it was like a knife. It's what Bob Paisley would have called a 'six-weeker'." Souness is also without midfielders Kieron Dyer and Emre through injury.

Chelsea's new £8million left back Assier Del Horno has been ruled out of Chelsea's first Champions League group game against Belgian side Anderlecht. The Spanish international picked up a thigh strain in Chelsea's 2-0 win against Sunderland on Saturday. The player has played every game this season for Chelsea this season and this injury might give English left back Wayne Bridge a run in the team.

Terrible blows for all of the team's involved but I think Arsenal will probably suffer the most with the loss of Henry. Newcastle haven't got of to the best start this season and the injury to Luqque could make their start even worse. Del Horno's loss for Chelsea won't effect them much because they have Wayne Bridge to fill in for him.
