Drogba : "It's a disgrace, a f*ckin disgrace"

That was Didier Drogba's reaction to Chelsea's shock exit from the Champions League tonight.

The Ivorian international simply went mental as the full-time whistle was blown at Stamford Bridge as Barcelona controversially progressed to the final in Rome.

In total, Guus Hiddink's men had about six penalty appeals waved away by the referee on the night Tom Henning Ovrebo and Drogba, who had been substituted earlier in proceedings felt it was only right he should run on the pitch and have a go at the officials.

Looking at the game as a neutral, you would have to admit that Chelsea can feel hard done by on a least two of the claims. The foul on Florent Malouda in the first-half was a stone-waller and the hand ball by Gerard Pique in the second-half was so clear cut.

Although I do feel sorry for Chelsea, you just cannot condone the behaviour of some of their players, especially Drogba. The fact that the Barca goal came so late probably made it even worse for the Chelsea players, but seeing players like Michael Ballack nearly hitting the referee is, as Drogba would put it, a disgrace, a f*ckin disgrace.

How anti-chelsea can you be? If you want all professional players to be stone cold all the time I suggest you suck some blood out of them.

How does Drogba escape yellows for "simulation"? His display tonight after the game was a disgrace. Ballack wasnt far behind. Symptomatic of Chelsea players in recent times.

Yes, agreed. It was also really disappointing to hear little Englander Jamie Redknapp try to justify the behaviour of the Chelsea players - and demand to get a 'big referee' to handle the games since Norwegian referees can't possibly be of the same standard. Showing his petty minded xenophobic colours yet again!

The disgrace is that referee who should be sacked and never be allowed to officiate again

It's sweet to see Chelsea get undone like that. Makes me feel better to see some of the player reveal themselves and show what a bunch of asses they are. Drogba and Ballack need to be banned. Especially Drogba. All those theatrics and antics during the match and then decides to act like the tough guy with the referee. Well done Barca..will be rooting you on in the final.

I totally agree with Drogba. The officiating was a complete sham and I'm beginning to think the referees deliberately wanted Barca to enter the final. UEFA must have wanted to deny English clubs in making history - two same clubs meeting in the final back-to-back. I'm an Arsenal fan though, I really feel for Chelsea in this case.

SERIOUSLY YOU KNOW WHAT THE WORST THING ABOUT THIS ALL...IS THAT ITS NOT RIGHT FOR A REF TO HAVE THAT MUCH POWER OVER A GAME, INWHICH HE BASICALLY DECIDED THE OUTCOME. SECONDLY IF IT WERE MAN U PLAYING AT OLD TRAFFORD..WELL ALL THOSE PENALTY APPEALS WOULD MOST DEFINATELY HAVE BEEN AWARDED!!!! ITS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING...AND FOR THOSE OF YOU DISGRACED AT DROGBA AND BALLACKS BEHAVIOUR..WELL THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOCKED THE REF OUT BECAUSE HE IS BY FAR THE WORST REF EVER!!!

I think Chelsea deserved the defeated in the game, because, they got a early goal, and then they defended it.

Barcelona made too little on the pitch, but, at least, they were looking to score...even with 10 players....

So, Barcelona has to get better if they want to beat Man U, by the way, Man U wasn't better than Arsenal, but this is another history...

Holy shit.. I can't even describe how good it felt to see the boring defensive football of Chelsea fall tonight. Sure, the referee sucked, but seeing Drogba go mental after the whistle was only sad. Drogba sucked bad today, too. If he had been a somewhat good forward, the match would've been decided much earlier.

Drogba was understandably emotional, what a joke of a ref for such an important game.

Since when is defensive football bad? Hiddink got the tactics right, only one Barca shot on target in the whole game says it all but they are such a good team and overall did deserve to go through.

In the premiership Chelsea would have won that 3-1 with two nailed on pens.

a few debateable penalties and a very iffy one does not constitute cheating, what does is being a strong physical footballer and falling over whenever ANY player makes a challenge, well Drogba, you live by the sword, don't expect too much sympathy when you die by it. Oh yes, you'll never win the Champions League with Chelsea. Its a F*ck*n Disgrace!

I think this is justice served after the way Drogba has continually tried to cheat refs by his constant diving throughout his career. I remember when he was at Marseille and he was exactly the same.
In the lead up to the sending off, he dived again. He is a disgrace.
Liverpool would have been in the semi if it wasn't for Drogba's diving and getting free-kicks constantly at Anfield. This not only resulted in a goal scored but snuffed Liverpool out as everytime they wanted to play, Drogba was on the floor and possession reverting to Chelsea.
    What goes around, comes around.

Drogba is only guilty of being truthful and accurate.

There was only one disgrace to the game and that was the ref's handling of it. I can accept mistakes. I can even accept incompetence. I won't accept outright dishonesty.

Barcelona have nothing to say now. They only survived by handballs and outright blatant fouls where their footballing ability failed them.

Most of the comments here are not objective hence you can feel hatred for Chelsea in them. While I won't take anything away from Barcalona, i think the referee had a brief not to award Chelsea penalty, anything but not a penalty. And some players lost their cool at the Ref because his decisions robbed them of a final. I think it's a shame on UEFA and this not Ballack & Drogba's attack on the Ref brought the game into Disrepute. But you know what, you can't put a good man down. We'll be there next year to win the CUP

As an Arsenal fan, i completley sympatise, but the fact remains for 80 mins chelsea were played off the pitch, i know they had chances but over all barca had the lions share of possesion.

in saying that chelsea have only one player to blame and thats that useless 6ft plus girl from the ivory coast...drogba.

if he didnt feign injury everytime someone like xavi or iniesta looked at him then the amount of injury time played wouldnt have amounted to four minutes and chelsea would now be on the way to rome, simple as that, so stop blaming the ref and look at a little closer to home lads.

also looking at the way he played last night i wondered if the premier league and uefa should introduce a rule where a player who goes down injured is removed from the pitch and is'nt allowed back on for a mandtory 5 mins, which is not added to stoppage time, this would makes the likes of drogba stop the bullshit.

i honestly feel sorry for the chelsea lads, but hey thats football, and whats worse is now the scum will probably retain their trophy.

the ref should be banned but so should the entire chelesea team from next years competetion for that lack of disregard. the only thing that was missing was a full brawl. Drogba showed on (almost) the highest stage yet again that he is a pathetic excuse for a man and a footballer. ballack is as everyone knows a disgrace and even John Terry is a joke, the guy who is supposed to captain England and he can't control his own club team. Disgraceful. Still they act that way after a minimal decision goes against them what did you expect.

at the end of the day football won, over the two legs, Barcelona were the better team, at the Nou Camp , barcelona should have had a penalty and probably ballack or Alex sent off, no one seems to talk about it, now the coin has turned the other way, they cannot take it, i'm happy cos football won at the end of the day.

No disrespect to anyone on this message board but when is everyone going to wake up?

The reason Chelsea are out of a dream Champions League final rematch with United is because of the average football fan who sits at home in front of his telly.

    How so?

Well we have a voice - hundreds of millions of voices across the world, to be honest, and only when we (the honest to God football fans) petition FIFA in enough numbers to change this idiotic method of deciding a game (ie. one 'older' referee chasing around twenty-two 'younger' players) will anything be done.

I remember as a kid watching Leeds being cheated out of the Cup Winners Cup final by AC Milan, by the referee. That was 34 years ago and it has been happening weekly ever since, and will continue to happen unless we bring in (a) at the very minimum, two referees and four assistants, or (b) (a) plus instant replay.

If you are against either solution, then accept the garbage which goes on presently and don't complain about it.

One other thing. I would have sent Darren Fletcher off at the Emirates on Tuesday night, and I would have been wrong in my decision. Reason being I can't see through a player - Fletcher stood between ref and ball so therefore he was unsighted.

And just for the record - I am a referee.

Give me a break, it's about they got a dose of there own medicine. For years we have had to suffer the play antics and ref conning that Chelsea excel in so well. What goes around comes around, get over it. As for Drogba? the "man" is a total disgrace, if he spent more time playing football instead of ballet he might be a decent player. Now you trophy chasing morons will have to wait another year cos your getting nowt at wembley when you play a proper team.
