Spurs plan £5 million move for Brazilian striker

Tottenham are planning to make a £5 million move for Lyon striker Fred in the coming days. The Brazilian international has long been linked with a move to the North London club and was understood to be close to joining them just 12 months ago, but for whatever reasons he remains a Lyon player.

Despite the arrival of Jermain Defoe at White Hart Lane earlier this week, it is still thought that Harry Redknapp will look to bring in one more frontman in the January transfer window. Fred, 25, is now seen as a possible acquisition for Spurs after he admitted : "England is a big league and it is natural for any player to want to go there."

With Fred's contract set to expire in the summer, I would not be at all surprised to see Lyon cash in on him now. There is no doubt that Fred is a good player and I feel at £5 million, he definitely represents good value for money. I think this would be a great move for Spurs and I, personally would be delighted to see Fred come to the Premier League.
