Arsenal defender subject of £8 million bid from Premier League side

It has been widely reported today that Arsenal defender Kolo Toure is the subject of a £8 million bid from Manchester City. The Ivorian international recently had a transfer request rejected by the North London club, however City boss Mark Hughes remains hopeful of bringing the player to Eastlands.

Toure, 27, has struggled to break into Arsene Wenger's starting eleven this season and is keen to leave the Emirates this month. With City currently in the market for just about every player in the world, Toure is now understood to be very high on Hughes' wish list for January.

Although Wenger is reluctant to sell Toure, I feel an offer of £8 million for a player who sits on the bench every weekend may be too good to turn down. In my opinion, Toure was and stil is a great defender and if City could manage to persuade Arsenal to sell, they would have a cracking player on their hands.

City will defintley have to spend more than £5.5 million if they want Toure in their team, but you won't. Toure costs just that in this season's "You the Manager" and I feel that he is a real bargain.
