Arsenal striker to depart the Emirates in January?
Arsenal striker Carlos Vela could be on his way out of the Emirates when the January transfer window opens with West Brom boss Tony Mowbray keen to take him on loan. The Mexican international has proved a massive hit at the Gunners since officially joining them this summer, however Arsene Wenger may be tempted to let him go in January.
Vela, 19, was originally signed by Arsenal back in 2005 from Mexican side Guadalajaral, however he spent three seasons on loan with several different Spanish sides, waiting for his work permit to be granted. Vela has now gone on to make just over a dozen appearances for the North London giants, scoring 4 goals in the process.
West Brom are desperate to add to their attacking options once the transfer window opens on January 1st and they are now hoping to take Vela on a six-month loan deal. The Gunners were recently knocked out of the Carling Cup, a competition which Vela has made most of his performances so the Baggies are now hoping to persuade Wenger to let him spend the rest of the season at the Hawthorns getting first team football every weekend.
Personally, I feel this would be a good move for all parties. West Brom would be getting a quality young striker who may help them stay in the Premier League. Vela himself would be getting much needed game time and Arsenal would hopefully see the benefit of it next season.
