£10 million striker heading for White Hart Lane?

Tottenham are preparing a £10 million bid for Everton striker Yakubu. The Nigerian international is understood to be Spurs boss Harry Redknapp's new number one target and is ready to bid for the player once the January transfer window opens.

Since arriving at White Hart Lane, Redknapp has turned the club's fortunes right around and has been linked with dozens of players, but Yakubu looks a very likely investment once January comes. Redknapp and Yakubu worked together during their days at Portsmouth and the Spurs gaffer is keen to re-ignite the relationship.

Yakubu, 25, has been at Goodison Park for over a year now since joining from Middlesbrough and has scored 25 goals during that time. He is currently the highest scoring African playing in the Premier League with 79 goals. Personally, I believe Yakubu would be an excellent signing for Spurs. He would be great value for money at £10 million and I feel Redknapp should do everything he can to sign him.

Yakubu costs just £6.5 million in this season's "You the Manager" and in my view is terrific value. Follow the link below to enter your team to be in with a chance of winning some terrific monthly and weekly prizes.
