Chelsea have tonight made an official bid for Bolton Wanderers striker Nicolas Anelka.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Anelka for some time now, almost three months, but it appears tonight as though they have finally made a bid for the Frenchman.

The 28-year old has always spoke of his dream to play for one of the big four again and Chelsea have always held a keen interest in the player, with boss Avram Grant admitting that he really liked Anelka as a player.

It is unclear yet how much Chelsea have offered Bolton for Anelka but it is looking increasingly unlikely that he will remain at the Reebok.
