Cost : £10 million

Bale has arguably been Spurs' best player this season, but that's not saying much. Spurs have struggled so far this season and have changed managers but Bale has had a terrific start to his Premier League career. Bale signed from Championship side Southampton during the summer for an initial fee of £5 million that could rise to £10 million.

He scored his first goal for the club during the 3-3 draw at to Fulham. He has since scored against Middlesbrough in the League Cup and a terrific free-kick against North London rivals Arsenal. Bale has quickly established himself as a fan favourite at White Hart Lane and if he keeps up this kind of form he is bound to go far.
