Utd and City battle over £18 million Brazilian striker !!!

West Ham are set to make an approach for Inter Milan striker Adriano in the upcoming January transfer window, according to the Sunday Mirror newspaper.

The Brazilian international has displayed talent for both club and country netting 44 in 103 appearances for the Milan side and 25 in 37 appearances for his nation, and despite being linked with European high-fliers Real Madrid and Chelsea, the Inter forward may shock the footballing world with a move to a lower profiled club like Man City or West Ham.

His clear goal scoring ability and his well-built figure indicates that he would be able to cope with the physicality of English football. This has clearly caught the eye of admiring managers, Alan Curbishley and Sven Goran Eriksson.

Whoever Adriano's destination club is it is likely that they will have to pay up to £18 million for the Brazil star, which is a steep sum for either of the chasing clubs. It may have to come to the case that players will be sold to get enough funds to satisfy Inter, and I think that fringe strikers such as Mpenza and Carlton Cole may have to make way for the stocky South American.
