United close on £30 million midfield pair
It is no secret that Manchester United have been watching either Miguel Veloso or Joao Moutino or both of them and Sporting Lisbon coach Paulo Bento has said today that he expects either of the pair to join United in the New Year in a "dream move".
Both players have been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time now and both players performed well last night when Sporting travelled to Manchester in the Champions League, with Moutinho, in my view, impressing more.
United won't be without competition for the pair with Spanish giants Real Madrid said to be very keen on Veloso and a host of Premier League clubs interested in Moutinho.
I have to say it would be very interesting to see the pair join United because with Ronaldo and Nani already their, they would sure strike up a mouth watering midfield partnership.
It is likely that United will have to cough up as much as £30 million for the Portuguese pair but I'm sure Sir Alex knows what he's doing, what do you think?

Neither looked worth it last night!
SAF won't pay that, and he needs a RB, go get Sagnol, grab a striker, perhaps Defoe, and get Veloso, but not for a king's ransom in the summer

Veloso shld be left alone, man utd should consider taking in moutinho. i've seen his videos, he is magnificent. true talent midfield player. He can be very well the next paul scholes in man utd.

a wouldbt definatelly have them on my team. both very young and people saying there werent good last night.well there were playing manchester utd of course.. & joining utd there would easyly be in the best team & improve alot.. same as nani and anderson s doing it well. anderson av noticed dont shoot as much as he did previous club but velesco top cornered nearly other night he would be perfect 4 utd.

Do we really need any more midfielders? Don't get me wrong, Lisbon have some cracking midfielders, but when they're all fit we have Scholes, Giggs, Nani, Ronaldo, Anderson, Carrick, Hargreaves, Fletcher, O'Shea, Park, and some youngsters too....

Veloso looks very talented but we dont need another midfielder.
The only way would be if Fergie thinks Fletcher should leave.
We need a striker more than anything to complete our forwards

anything so we never have to see o'shea or fletcher in midfield again!
priority has to be a striker though because saha will get injured again before you know it.

MORE MIDFIELDERS!!!!!!!!WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY IS NOT SAF LOOKING AT BRINGING IN ANY NEW STRIKERS??? THEY NEED TO SELL SAHA & BUY TWO YOUNG, BIG, STRONG & POTENTIAL WORLD CLASS STRIKERS TO THE CLUBS MIDFEILD IS STRONG ENOUGH DOESNT NEED ANY MORE MIDFEILDERS!! ITS ALL VERY WELL HAVING A WORLD CLASS MIDFIELD BUT THEY NEED AN OUT N OUT STRIKER/S WHO WOULD COMPLIMENT THE MIDFEILD N DO THE JOB UPFRONT INFRONT OF GOAL AT THE MOMENT UNITED DO NOT HAVE ANY OUT N OUT STRIKERS IF THEY DID THEN THEY WOULD RULE EUROPE FOR SURE!

look lets make one thing clear & straight to the point!!ferguson should go & o'shea, fletcher, saha, should all be sold...the scouting team needs also to be sacked & replaced by a better scouting team!!why?? look at wenger for instance look how many young players they buy for nothing & sell for millions!!& become world class this is due to thier superior scouting system o youth around the world. man utd on the other hand? they spend millions on young players & the worst thing is we find out later that they could have brought the same player in for nothing earlier!!!!man utds scouting system is to lax i feel the team needs to freshen up & they will once the obove mentioned things happen!!!

Just a thought, but couldn't this be some kind of decoy ? I mean doesn't SAF usually know, what he's doing ? Hargreaves + Anderson during the summer should be adequate cover for now, right ? This could be a smokescreen covering up the fact that he's actually searching (or perhaps already negotiating) for a RB and a striker ? Wouldn't be the first time that people could end up being quite surprised........
