Fantastic news for Liverpool fans !!!

Several newspapers have today reported that Reds full back John Arne Riise has pledged his future to the club after being linked with a move to Villa Park. It was thought that fellow-Norwegian international John Carew who currently plays at Aston Villa tried to convince the Liverpool number 6 to join him in the midlands, however it is believed that Riise, 27, has dismissed Carew's suggestion.

I have great respect for Riise he`s been there for us (kop) many times but I wouldn`t call this fantastic news.. since he joined, the team grew much stronger and you can see that Riise is not keeping up with the rest. We could have easily got a couple of mill with his selling and put into something more concrete..

How can this be a fantastic news?

How many times has he had shots on target from 20 yards. It seems that defenders don't even mark him when he is in range.

How many times has his crosses connects with a LFC player?

He was as good as he was when he was 20 years old and yes...he never did improve.

a couple of mill??? This is a player Mourinho was interested in spending 20 million on if he didn't get Cole! He's been, with Cole and maybe Barry, the most consistent left back in the country for the last 5/6 seasons. scores more goals than most defenders. His form has dropped but he's been a part of the most solid defnce in the prem for 3 seasons straight. Think he deserves a new contract and should stay, even if he's back up to a new LB

Worst news since I don't know when. Cred to the person who cracked the headline. lol. Few players got so many games and developed so little as this waste of space. Incredible really he's a regular starter. But then again, keep playing him Rafa and you can continue dreaming about that no.19.

whoever referred to fabio aurelio as a brazilian tool has not got a clue. Him and xabi are light years ahead of the rest of the team when it comes to playing intelligent football, once he gets a break from his injuries and gets a run in the time you will no doubt be singing his praises. Typical half whit football fan!
