Celtic target Merseyside hotshot !!!

Glasgow Celtic are set to make an approach for Everton and Scotland striker, James Mcfadden in the upcoming January transfer window, according to reports in the Daily Mail newspaper today.

McFadden, 24, has recently been rumoured with a move back to his homeland of Scotland but somewhat unexpectedly it has been with Celtic while most thought that it would be to The Bhoys old firm rivals, Rangers.

McFadden hasn't been a prolific goal scorer in his time in domestic football with Everton netting just 10 goals in a little over 100 appearances. However it is clear why he has been linked with a club of Celtic's stature as his heroic performances for Scotland as well as averaging 1 goal every three games for the Euro 2008 qualifying contenders has obviously impressed the likes of Gordon Strachan.

It is expected that if Celtic are to make a bid for the Everton number 11 that it will be for that of around £4.5 million
