The latest twist in the Carlos Tevez saga
It would appear that Carlos Tevez will be joining Manchester City after months of speculation regarding his future. The Argentine striker has been strongly linked with several Premier League clubs in recent weeks including the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, however City look to have finally won the race.
Tevez recently revealed that he had rejected Manchester United's offer of a new deal at Old Trafford because he didn't feel wanted by the Premier League Champions. It has been reported today that the 25-year old has enrolled his 4-year old daugther, Florencia in a private school in Chesire, which would seem to indicate that he plans to stay in the north-west next season.
City have been the favourites for a long time to sign Tevez and I'm sure today's revelation will make them even heavier favourites. A player like Tevez will no doubt help Mark Hughes in his quest to make City one of the biggest clubs in the world and as a City fan myself, I just can't wait to see Tevez arrive at Eastlands.
What do you think? Can you see Tevez signing for anyone other than City or is it a certainty now? Comments below please.

Come on you guy's get real, this Tevez deal has nailed on for City about 3 weeks.
The worst kept transfer secret ever, Tevez being unvailed 01-07-09 along with our new all singing and dancing web site and Home and away kits plus any other signings between now and then.
Suggest you pay a little bit more attention to the club who will smash the Englis top 4 apart.

I have a good idea. I've been worried that as fans we have nothing whatsoever in common with the club's owners. I mean, I know very little of arab culture but I'd like the club's overseers to feel at home when they make a visit to Eastlands. I tried to think of one thing that English football fans and arabs might have in common but was having a hard time. Then it dawned on me. Lawrence of Arabia.
We could erect a statue of him by the main entrance to show our arab solidarity and impress the sheiks. I'm no expert on T.E. Lawrence, but anything to make the money men think we love them would be cool.
Anyone have any better ideas?

City will finish top 3 next season which shut up all the jealousy and disrespect we have been getting the past 10 months. Two years from now the worlds very best players will be queing up to sign for City, not for the money - because they'll want to sign for a club with real ambition. There's only Real Madrid who can come anywhere near us. Man United's crippling debts will send them into meltdown within the next two years, just around the time old purple nose calls it a day. Liverpool have committed themselves to a huge debt with the 'Rubbish Bank of Scotland' so their days are numbered. Roman has a few bob but City owners make him look like he's on paperboy's wages. As for Arsenal, they've been clinging on for the past 5 or 6 years with next to nothing sucess wise to brag about. Man City 'world domination' I wouldn't like to be the one to doubt it. Times are changing... is that a Blue Moon rising ?

Seriously, City have a long way to go before they break the top four. People say Chelsea did it in a year, but really they were in the Champions League already and were in the top six the five years leading up to Abramovic's takeover. We already had Lampard, Terry and Cudicini. Barry is a good signing but considering he went for money, his head will not be in the game.

I feel disappointed at Chelsea's desire to sign Aguero for a higher price than Tevez whos potency as been tested in the priemership(Above 51millon Euro or Pounce Sign on fee wt 200 thousand per wk and 25.5million sign on fee wt at most 150 thousand pounce per wk Respectively). It saden's my heart that just thesame way we lost Robinho to city. That cost us the trophy and led to Scolari's shameful exit.Chelsea is not making enough effort.Putting Scolari in retrospect,Instead of showing the Desperation he had to sign Robinho(Like madrid in Ronaldo and Kaka instances), he acted like an arrogant coach, signed Deco and waited patiently til we lost out in the robinho bid.Ancelotti must sit up at Chelsea. there are no excuses. All Tevez needs is assurance which he deserves reasonable. He is in every manner a blessing even wt the age and all of that. It's better we face reality forget about those so called intalian Stars like pirlo and Gattuso cum sturritdge who will becom a waste, sent on loan like shervy or sold like sahar and concentrate on Tevez and maybe Pato. Pato because he has a year left on his contract, young and has performed reasonable against all odds in might Milan.Ancelotti should get serious. Blues for life

Sad bloke that other anonymous. The Tevez signing isn't just a question of money; £25M isn't a huge price beyond the reach of Premiership clubs; Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool can all afford him. Tevez, despite being worshiped by their fans didn't feel 'appreciated' at Man Utd because he wasn't playing every week so the indications are that he'll only join a club where he will be guaranteed to be one of the first names on the team sheet. He wouldn't get that at Liverpool or Chelsea so they're not favorites to sign him.
For him the question must be 'can he stand to win nothing for the next couple of seasons (aside perhaps for the League Cup')? If he can he'll probably join Man City, if not he'll have to accept that he will be a very good squad player at Chelsea or Liverpool.
Money doesn't create a great team, people conveniently forget that Chelsea finished in the top 6 consistently for 4 seasons before Abramovich took over, and the season he arrived (before he had a chance to use the money) they very nearly won the Premiership. City will take 3 or 4 seasons to get up to that standard, if they ever do.

Mercenary - we aren't in a hurry; after 30 years of being shite, what's another 3 or 4 years putting it all right. Then we'll be ready for world domination, at the same time as United are being wound up in the bankruptcy courts :-)

tevez to city im not surprised im a chelsea fan and im glad any argentinian that comes to the premiership says loads but delivers little i.e veron crespo even heinze man city have the money but will never be as big as man u chelsea liverpool but might out gun arsenal best they can hope for get real city fans need more then tevez to help you no playersw with any heart your money cant buy john terry or lampard got to have heart ,desire not just money

Wow but this has drifted about in the comments.
We are going to buy Tevez basically because it insults the pretend Manchester team big style and Boy does it give us a stick to thrash them with.
The money is insignificant to the richest club in the world.
No one is claiming we will break the english top 4 this season but once we do so Liverpool or Arsenal will be the ones to suffer.
Both limping along with thier heads above water only by Champions League funding. Once gone either one will be in deep deep trouble.
