Spurs to move for Premier League skipper
Tottenham are to make a January move for out-of-form Manchester City defender Richard Dunne. The Republic of Ireland international has had a woeful season at Eastlands and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is ready to offer him the chance to leave Manchester and move to North London.
Dunne, 29, was on the brink of leaving the City of Manchester stadium during the summer when Portsmouth, with Redknapp at the helm, nearly signed him but he opted to stay at City when Mark Hughes was appointed. Things haven't gone according to plan under Hughes at City and it is rumoured that several players will be on their way out come the new year and Dunne may be one to make way.
Dozens of players have been linked with moves to White Hart Lane in recent weeks as the club continues to impress under the guidance of Redknapp. Personally I think Dunne is a terrific player and although he is having a bad run of form, he would still be a good addition to the Spurs ranks. With City likely to splash the cash in January, it would not surprise me one bit to see Dunne on his way out the door.
Spurs may have to spend more than £4 million on Dunne, but you don't. You can sign the player for just £4 million in this season's "You the Manager" and in my view that is a definite bargain.
