Great news for Liverpool fans as manager Rafa Benitez believes Fernando Torres will be fit enough to play in the side's Premier League encounter with West Brom at the weekend. The Spanish international has been out for almost a month now since injuring himself whilst on international duty, however this weekend should see him return to the fold.

The 24-year old had been suffering with a hamstring injury and was expected to return against his former club on Tuesday night, Atletico Madrid. Torres opted not to risk the injury and now looks set to line-up against the Baggies on Saturday. Benitez said : "I believe Torres will be ready for the West Brom game at the weekend.

"It all depends on Fernando, he was not happy with his fitness so he did not play against Atletico ... He said he was not confident, so you cannot take any risks with a hamstring injury ... I will talk to the player during the rest of the week to see how he is after each training session. But I will also talk with the physio and the doctor for their view. But how Fernando feels will be the key."

This is obviously terrific news for all Liverpool fans. Torres is without doubt of the best players in the side and without him in it they don't look the same. Liverpool are currently flying high in the league and the return of Torres will only boost the side as they enter a crucial stage of the season.
