Spurs plan move for England ace to replace Berbatov

Tottenham are tonight preparing a move for Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey to replace Manchester bound Dimitar Berbatov. The England international has been heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane this summer as Spurs look to reshape their strike force with Roman Pavlyuchenko also arriving.

The former Liverpool front man is understood to be interested in a move to the North London club although they will have to hurry because the deadline is just under four hours away. Heskey, 30, has been at Wigan for just two seasons since joining from Birmingham back in 2006 but now he could be on the move again.

It would be a big shock to me to see Heskey at Spurs tomorrow. He has been a very good player for Wigan in recent years but I personally feel he is not Spurs material but Juande Ramos doesn't seem to agree with me. Stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest news coming through on this deadline day.
