Spurs, United and Chelsea to miss out on £30 million striker
Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea are to miss out on Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o after the Spanish giants confirmed he is staying at the club. The Cameroon international had been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League after Barca boss Pep Guardiola told Eto'o he was surplus to requirements at the club.
Eto'o is valued at the £30 million and it was thought that a move to England was likely but Barca said on their official website: "Josep Guardiola has explained in the press conference for the game against Wisla Krakow that Samuel Eto'o will continue one more season as an azulgrana (Barca player). "The azulgrana coach has announced that it is a decision taken, 'by the desire of the player and by myself.'"
I personally would of loved to see a top player like Eto'o playing in the Premier League this season. He is a superb striker that any manager would love to have in their squad and I feel he would of been a terrific asset to any side in question. Ah well, maybe he'll come next year.
