Spurs prepare for life without Berbatov with three strikers being lined up
Tottenham are today preparing for life without Dimitar Berbatov after the striker admitted he is desperate for a move to Manchester United. The Bulgarian international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer long and it now appears as though things are beginning to take shape for his £25 million transfer.
Spurs boss Juande Ramos has apparently got three strikers in mind to replace Berbatov. Atletico Madrid's Diego Forlan, Blackburn's Roque Santa Cruz and finally Spartak Moscow's Roman Pavlyuchenko are all on the radar of the former Sevilla manager.
Andrei Arshavin has been another name mentioned but the North London club have told Zenit St Petrsburg, they are not interested in the 27-year old at their asking price of £24 million. And this was the response of the Russian cub on their website "Zenit consider the question of the transfer of the player to Tottenham closed."
Out of the three names mentioned I could see Forlan heading for White Hart Lane. He had a torrid spell at Man United a few years but has since gone on to be a huge success in La Liga. I feel under the guidance of Juande Ramos he could be a real hit at the club and the rumoured £8 million wouldn't be too much for a striker like Forlan.
