Man United are lining up Spurs' assistant manager Gus Poyet according to reports in the Mail on Sunday.

The Uruguaian coach joined the club just last year and has proved an instant hit at the club for which he previously played. Second in line to Juande Ramos, this is already the 40 year old's third job in his short coaching career after spells at Swindon and Leeds. After Carlos Queiroz left Man United a few weeks ago Sir Alex has been on the hunt for his new number 2.

Spurs' Poyet and Swansea manager Roberto Martinez both initially laughed off the suggestions of joining Sir Alex at Old Trafford. However the rumours of Poyet have now been reignited and there's no doubt that a small part of him will be tempted to snacth at the opportunity.
