The Ireland international is said to be considering quitting City this summer after the treatment Man City manager Sven Goran Eriksson has received from club owner Thaksin Shinawatra.
Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan is keen to hook back up with Dunne, 28, whom he managed at City back in 2005.
Meanwhile, Spurs manager Juande Ramos has apparently made a new centre-back one of his top priorities this summer. It is believed that either club will have to pay around the £8 million mark for the player's services.
As a City fan myself, I would obviously be gutted to see our captain leave. He has been a tremendous servant to the club since joining from Everton all those years ago.
