England midfielder puts Liverpool and Newcastle on red alert

David Bentley has this week failed to rule out a possible move away from Blackburn this summer and this looks to of caught the attentions of both Rafa Benitez and Kevin Keegan.

Bentley is widely regarded as the player to fill David Beckham's role on the right hand side of midfield for England. He has been by far Rovers' player of the season and currently valued around the £12 million mark.

The former Arsenal youth player joined Rovers over two and a half seasons ago from the London club and has impressed immensely since then. Newcastle were linked with a possible January move for Bentley but for whatever reason nothing ever materialised.

It is now taught that after Bentley's recent comments, Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez will also be looking to acquire the 23-year old's services. I personally feel Bentley will opt for Liverpool ahead of Newcastle, simply because they are a better club.

I'm a Geordie and I would "Love it" if we got a hold of him but in his words: "To further my England career I need to be playing regular European football" and we aren't providing it yet, He would give us a large stepping stone... It'll be interesting to see if Newcastle's Scouts and Kevin Keegan can deliver like in the past... I'm holding my breath.

Liverpool a better club?? HAHAHA... A more successful one yes but better I am afraid not. Bentley would be a good buy for Newcastle as he would provide some good competition for James Milner who has made the right wing his own at Newcastle. Newcastle is going places now with Keegan on board...anyone would be foolish to underestimate them. I believe Newcastle is Bentley's best option as he will play much more games and will be well noticed in Newcastle which will do him good for his England hopes.
