Spurs target £13 million Liverpool ace

It has been rumoured today that Tottenham are planning a summer bid of £13 million for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.

The Spanish international has found the last six or seven months at Anfield tough, what with the arrival of Javier Mascherano in the Liverpool midfield.

The player is said to be growing deeply frustarted at the current situation and this could lead to his departure from Rafa Benitez' side in the summer with Juande Ramos supposedly very keen on the player.

Alonso would be a terrific signing for Spurs and I suspect he would be a huge hit with the White Hart Lane faithful. He is only 26-years old and still has many years left in him and it would not surprise me one bit to see Ramos bring the player to London.

    Alright i can understand not wanting to be at liverpool with Rafa's Rotation thing, but he will not come to a club who i believe will finish 8th or worse this season!!!

    I am a spurs fan!! I do not think we will get anywhere this season and we are lucky to get europe through the carling cup!!

    Torres will be going to Barcelona in the summer as he is disappointed in how Liverpool are performing and how the fans and board are against each other. Rumour has it that Liverpool will try and get a swap deal with Eto'o.
