United look to see off Madrid for Valencia star
According to today's Daily Telegraph, Newcastle United face competition from Spanish Champs Real Madrid for Valencia skipper David Albelda.
The midfielder was told by Valencia manager Ronald Koeman he could leave the club in January and Newcastle were one of the first names to be mentioned about possibly signing him.
The Magpies could sure do with a quality midfielder and Albelda would be a quality signing by Sam Allardyce but when Real Madrid come knocking very few refuse.
The 30-year old 46 caps for Spain and it is unclear yet wheter or not he will be aloud leave Valencia on a free transfer or not. I would personally love to see Albelda join the Premier League and I think he would be a huge success here.
