Spurs striker on the brink of exit

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is on the brink of leaving the club after he was told he can leave the club by Spurs boss Juande Ramos.

Defoe has found it hard to nail down a first team place this season with the club currently employing three other top strikers in Bent, Berbatov and Keane.

Defoe has always said he was happy at Spurs and he didn't necceseraly want to move but today Ramos told Defoe that he could leave if he wants, but Defoe says he wants to prove him wrong and stay, but one suspects he will be driven out.

It is obvious now that Ramos doesn't foresee including Defoe in his squads for the remainder of the season. I must say that I think Defoe has been harshly treated and although he says he wants to stay, I can personally see him moving to either Aston Villa or Manchester City before the close of the transfer window.
