Spurs set to sign £12 million defensive duo !

Tottenham are supposedly set to sign Middlesbrough defender, Johnathan Woodgate and Hertha Berlin left back, Gilberto.


Woodgate reportedly turned down a move to former club Newcastle this week in order to secure his move to White Hart Lane. So at the moment it looks like he is joining the London side in the very near future.

Reports on Sky Sports this morning state that Hertha Berlin defender, Gilberto has had a medical at Spurs. It is thought that the two parties just have to fix up a few minor details before the Brazilian is signed by Juande Ramos.

I think that both of these signings are good ones and much needed with Spurs poor defending this season. This pair will certainly steady the ship at White Hart Lane.

    i think ramos has already gone a long way towards steadying the ship, (thanks mostly to ledleys successful return)
    i think if woodgate signs then its a great signing, but slightly risky. and if it wasnt for roberto carlos' great international career, then gilberto would be a household name playing at one of europes top top clubs. COYS

    you are so stupid its hard to believe your a spurs fan.
    Martin jol gave spurs fans a reason to hold our heads high for 2 years, most of us "jol fans" apreciate he wasnt the man to help us in to the top 4 but he built some grreat foundations whilst taking us t 5th in the league twice in a row.
