Liverpool look to snatch £18 million star from under Utd and City !

Liverpool, Man City and Man United are all set to make an approach for Ajax star Klaas Jan Huntelaar according to reports on Sky Sports today.

The Dutch international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and it is believed that all three of the above clubs had scouts present at Ajax's 6-1 demolition of AZ Alkmaar, in which the 24 year old performed brilliantly.

Since his move from Heerenveen he has managed an astonishing 55 goals from 66 appearances in the red and white colours.

I know people are going to say I'm wrong but this situation sounds a bit familiar. Dirk Kuyt was bigged up so much in Holland and has done hardly anything for The Reds since his arrival.

I'm not sure about Huntelaar, people are saying he's world class and as a Liverpool fan I hope he is if he comes to Anfield, just don't get your hopes up too high. But then again you never know he might be the opposite of Dirk Kuyt and be the next Ruud van Nistelrooy.

I don't Believe we will be lucky to see this player in Liverpool colours... he's more than likey going to Juventus if they done buy Sissoko... it all down to money, i hope Liverpool hold to out them with Sissoko and not give in to a loan, then we just might get him.

come on people securing funds for Javier Mascherano is far more important than adding to our strikers at the moment in time. I do however agree that the Yanks have to go, they have bitten of far more than they can chew.

I think we need to work on funds to buy masch outright....as for the striker...anyone will do as long as they can shoot on target!!

not too sure about getting the funds for mascherano or huntelaar, I think we are missing a couple of world class wingers and would go all out to get them. Maybe then we could start playing a more attacking style. We've got mascherano till the summer anyway

We should buy this player!!! his really good, briliant and good scorer! could play along Torres. Watch MU, teves and rooney both are scorer! but Liverpoll still depending on Torres and Gerard! We need attacking mind set, need more goals! Our midfilder still lack of goal scorer see Xabi, Masch, Leiva, Sissoko all not capable at all atleast attemtp!! sell Voronin, Kuyt and Sissoko and use that money!!

I think everybodys going on about Masch, but i think LP need a world class Striker and a medfeilder that can play much like gerrard, Essien and Mikkel for Chelsea work excellent and both go forward when they find space, Masch stays too far back and doenst get enough goals from midfeild, infact none of the medfeild is scoring

Are all of you crazy? The club is rotting with deceit, politics, lies and turmoil.

How on earth can we afford a 18mil GBP player? We can't even pay for Masch who is supposed to be signed last month FFS.

The Americans bought LFC thinking they won't have to pay from their pockets. Now the banks wanted 20mil GBP from each, they are reluctant to do it.

Forget about any players this summer, Rafa ain't got a penny to spend.

so much negative from LFC fans .... im ashamed!!! I love my club and that includes everyone, those that choice to support one side and not the other are not real supports .... sorry truth hurts! this club is rotting but not because of the owners alone, the manager has turned into some ego monster using the press to get his own way and his act to complain to the press is the one action that is going to bring this club down! I dont think you guys understand what your saying ... no money, Rafa spent over 50m on players in the summer and even said in the press he was happy and got what he asked for .... we have just bought a defender, as Rafa left us short, lets say this much, rafa got more then Moores could afford!!! and if it hadn't been for the CL win 2005, Rafa would be no where near the best manager we have had, possibly in the lower levels !!! yet Im hearing fans talk about Rafa as being a liverpool great, 40 years supporting liverpool ands this guy is NO WAY a liverpool great, wake-up please!!!! In my book he'll never be a great after bringing this club down to the gutter with his rant to the press! Most of the player we have are Rafas buys, so who gets the blame when the team is playing badly, Rafa, no more excuses .... lets just make this really clear ... Everton are level on points, enjoying european competition and building a club with real quality, strength and belief ... we on the other hand are going backwards and have been for about 10 years ... we need big change and the new owners will bring that but this present manager is dissing everything this club has built over the years ... Replace him now!!! and give us a chance with a manager who works hard with his players and makes them great .....

Let’s get real, the reason we are in this mess is down to a number of parties.
First of all Rick Parry and David Moore’s they decided on the Americans purely for greed i.e.; they offered £1000.00 per share more than was being offered by DIC and other interested parties. Also Rick Parry was very keen to get a guarantee to hold on to his role within the club. We all know how he “expertly handled the Stevi G negotiations in 2005” so you can see his hand all over this debacle!
When Rafa was speaking to or not to the owners where was Mr. Parry who is supposed to be administrating the club! And is supposed to be Rafa’s Boss!
As to Rafa he has contributed to this by his insistence on rotation, game plans etc.
When the mighty Liverpool have to devise a game plan to play against the likes of Middlesborough, Wigan, Luton etc. that says it all! Rafa has built up a good squad of players (£150,000,000 worth) including the best of the previous Stevie G, Carra etc.
In all the whole situation has been in his own hands by not learning and being so stubborn he has put himself in the firing line!
What he needs to do is pick a team to win matches. And not play stupid formations and game plans! That the players and fans don’t understand. So before we start laying the blame at the yanks door look closer to home!
Win games = job security Lose/draw games = job insecurity.
And before you start saying two Champions league finals.
I was there in Istanbul and Athens. Remember that gaping hole in our midfield in the 1st half when AC Milan scored 3 goals who was not in the team? Didi Haman who’s inevitable substitution filled the hole and allowed Stevie and co to play!
Athens who was up front Stevie G and Pennant! Do I need to say any more! This is Rafa's team so it is his responsibility.

    Problem solving 101:

    1) Rafa stop thinkering and stick to one team with Torres, Gerrard, Alonso, Babel, Carra, Arbeloa & Reina as the basis.

    2) Yanks, proof your worth ( in my recallation, they have the guts to say that even Snoop Dogg could be bought if Rafa wants him ) and start dish out the money for star players.

    3) Give thanks to Masch since the 17M price tag should be better be spent on a winger @ centre forward.

    4) Delay the stadium works a year until we have the star players once Item 2 have been accomplished.

I think that the sooner we get rid of Kuyt, the better. He is wasting good time and money because he is not a striker's bottom. I say sell Kuyt, Voronin, sissoko and even much overated Alonso to finance some world class players
