Liverpool, City and Pompey in race for £9 million Argentine winger !

Liverpool, Portsmouth and Man City could be set to make an approach for Real Mallorca winger, Jonás Gutiérreze according to reports on Sky Sports.

The 24 year old midfielder was supposedly a target for Pompey and Liverpool last Summer, however a move for the player never materialised. It is thought that the two clubs as well as new contenders Man City, have all had scouts keeping track of the player's progress.

He has made 66 appearances for Mallorca since joining in 2005 and has managed 7 goals as well in that time. He has also appeared on 2 occasions for his home nation of Argentina. It is thought that the player will cost between £7 million and £9 million.

9 million for nearly a 1 in 10 goal ratio, is in his prime and has only every played for Argy land twice. Your having a laugh aren't you.

1 in 10 goal ratio... he is a winger, hes supposed to set up goals more so than to score them

but you have to score goals to be considered a world class winger, so unless he is a squad player this isn't good enough, same old story just like kuyt, pennant, aurleio, etc etc good players but not great players like we need

Jonas is a very good player, and you have to take into account his side, Mallorca, regularly compete against relegation, so goals are not easily come by for his side. And look at the talent Argentina has to offer, he only has 2 caps, but he has been in the squad numerous times. That's still quite good.
