City eye United midfielder and Spurs defender

Birmingham City are tracking Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher and Tottenham defender Antony Gardner.

Both players have had a lack of first team football this season and both are said to be growing increasingly frustrated at their respective clubs.

Fletcher has made over 100 appearances at United but with several players ahead of him in the pecking order for a central midfield spot he may be tempted to join Alex McLeish's side.

Gardner has also made 100 appearances at Spurs but he too has several players ahead of him in the pecking order for a central defence spot and has been linked with several moves away from the club.

I feel both of these rumours may become reality before the closing of the transfer window on the 31st of January. I feel it is the right time for both players to move on and get on with their careers.

Darren Fletcher is a very good player and he has shown that in the performances he has made for United previously. He has shown the quality that he has but unluckily for him he has to contend with some top class footballers who are ahead of him in the pecking order. Fletcher could be the man to inspire McLeish's team to far greater heights. For £5 million he looks the bargain of the window.

Gardner is a apparently decent centre half though I've watched Tottenham for a long time and have not seen a great performance from him. He's not the type of player McLeish would go for.

Yeah he is not good enough for united. just like Phil Neville and Alan Smith. Not good enough simple as.
The next man that should be heading out the Old Trafford gates with a One Way Ticket is Michael Carrick. He's Poison. Anyone saying different has never played football at a good level
