Chelsea star linked with £25 million switch to Gunners

According to today's Times, Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has decided to leave the club and he could be the subject of a £25 million bid for London rivals Arsenal.

Drogba has outlined his plans to quit Chelsea in the summer and there have been many rumours about his future, with sides like Real Madrid and AC Milan linked with the Ivorian striker.

Arsene Wenger is said to be a big fan of the 29-year old and although he rarely spends big, Wenger may yet splash the cash on Drogba, although personally I feel it's unlikely.

I think, although Drogba is a terrific player that scores loads of goals, he may be a bit old to be spending £25 million on. I feel Wenger will look to Lyon star Karim Benzema and spend £16 or so million on him instead and in my mind that would be a terrific move for the Gunners.

Arsenal have adebayor, van persie, eduardo, bendtner with walcott and vela coming through. Why in the seven names of satan would they buy another striker. FFS at least have some semblance of fact or truth to back your inane drivel

I've read the Times article and all it says is that Drogba wants to leave Chelsea, not that Wenger wants to buy him.

Post at 5.19 got it right. There will be no Drogba or Benzema bought. Arsenal have strikers galore.

The only purchases might be (more likely at season's end than beginning):

    * in central defence to cover Gallas and Toure (Senderos and Djourou are perhaps not up to standard)
    * goalkeeper if Lehmann goes & Fabianski is deemed not yet up to standard to cover for Almunia
    * less likely but maybe a left winger to support Rosicky. I suspect AW will not agree but I feel that Diaby is not good enough in that position.
    * If any of Falmini, Diarra and/or Gilberto go then defensive midfilder(s).

The blogger clearly does not know the Arsenal squad or coach.

I think he'll go abroad but to be honest he would enjoy it there with all the French-Africans and some are still good friends with him. We'll see what happens but nothin suprises me in football anymore

Good grief... is this the level we have sunk to in order for bloggers to create traffic to their site?

Unfortunately, you are one of a growing community that writes about something it simply doesn't have any understanding of...

2 minutes of my life lost I won't get back!!

It's all very well quoting other sources and then absolving yourself of responsibility for the content of the piece however if you want to gain any credibility then please demonstrate that you have some remnants of a brain - at least be discerning in your choice of BS ... this piece is utterly ridiculous. Drogba will _never_ sign for Arsenal, after all Adebayor is as good if not better than Drogba an much much younger. Never mind the 'don't shoot the messenger crap', unless you write something intelligent and original [even if it is your personal fantasy] nobody will read this Blog, let alone attach any value to it.

Who eva wrote this artical cannot really be ino football because there is no way Arsenal would spend that sort of money on a player, he is old (29 i think) an he is chelsea scum! Also dont think he is much better than what we have!Da Silva will show him what a real leged is. I bet the guy who wrote this is going to tell us that Lampard and Terry are on there way to Arsenal next, you muppet!!

Good idea, but AW has to talk to Barca to pick him once he gets off form. 35 million pound from Barca, would be good bussiness. So yes good deal
