Spurs = Saha + Brown + £6 million - BERBATOV

United are set to make a bid for Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov in the January transfer window according to reports in numerous papers today. The bid will consist of £6 million, Louis Saha and Wes Brown for the Bulgarian international.

Berbatov has somewhat failed to build on his stunning performances from last season for the Londoners, however in recent weeks he is beginning to rekindle last season's flame.

Wes Brown rejected a contract from united last week and it appears now as if he is on his way out of Old Trafford. As for Louis Saha, the Frenchman has been out of favour this season, third in line to Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney.

Spurs have been needing to build their defence and Wes Brown would be a decent player to bring in to start doing so. Saha would obviously just be a direct swap for Berba which I think would be a decent deal for Spurs, except I would probably look for a bit more than £6 million.

What I am wondering is who will start for the league champions should Berbatov join them? Which two would you start between; Rooney, Tevez and Berba. Only one thing's for sure if this deal goes through both sides will have a lethal strike partnership.

Berbatov is cup tied from Europe because of his involvement in Tottenham Uefa cup campaign

are you being serious? you must be joking if you think that is a good deal for spurs. I dont think brown is better than what we have already. and as for saha, i would rather any of our 4 strikers over him (even if he is quality when fit)

bahahahahaha! brown and saha + 6mil for berbatov. BAHAHAHAHA! DREAM ON! berbatov is worth at least 25mil. brown's on a bosman in the summer so is worth f#ck all, meaning that Manure rate Saha at 19mil. BAHAHAHA! come back with carrick + nani + 6mil and then maybe we can talk. jokers!

not sure berbatov is what man u needs. once ronaldo signs for barcelona (have it on good authority a £50mil deal is signed for the summer) maybe aaron lennon would be a better target?

Berba may well end up at Man U but I can assure you that there is no way on this planet we will take Saha as part of any deal! Fergie wants him out coz of his injuries and he should know only to well after the Carrick deal Spurs are no mugs anymore when it comes to selling players! Not a chance in hell. If Nani and Brown were part of the deal then that would prob appeal to all parties!

I think berbatov will be staying where he is until at least the summer. if ramos can continue the good work, don't see berbatov going anywhere for the next couple of years.

Seriously, mate. know members of ronaldo's family from madeira. he's been wanting to play in spain for years and doesn't think he'll be seen as the world's top player unless he's playing for barca/madrid. mark my words.....50 mil to barcelona in the summer. from what i've been told, it's a virtually done deal.

What is Sir Alex trying to clean out his cupboard with getting rid of the bits and pieces? IF Spurs go for this they should close them down. Brown has one trick (like Carragher) hold on to the opponent and then fall over backwards, and the refs ignore this time and time again. He is in the final stages of his career and I think Kaboul has already shown signs of developing way beyond Brown. As for Saha he is much the same as Bent who has more potential particularly playing under Ramos. Berbatov is a consummate artist and is as great a player as any player currently playing in the premiership.

Actually berba isn't cup tied because there is a rule that allows you to register a player who isn,t playing in the same competition .In this case berba was playing uefa cup football whereas united are in the champions league

This is an old article that is doing the rounds again.
Assuming that Berba is worth £25m min., Brown nil as he is on a free at the end of the season, that makes Saha a £19m player......you are having a laugh!
This strikes me as a laughable bit of journo, the author ought to be ashamed of himself!

saha would only get about 5-6 million in today's transfer market. brown about 2-3 (considering he's nearly out of contract). that plus 6 million means united rate berbatov at about 15 million. don't think spurs will sell at that price. sounds like tabloid bullshit to me.

Sorry to go off topic. but for ronaldo to go for a spanish club would be really unrealistic aswell as the price, 50 mil??, im from spain and to be honest the clubs from there know he is a utd player through and through. the premier league also feel is the best in the world.

1st reason: the premier league is the biggest league in the world, the most money to earn and the excitment for the players is unreal through any match, i believe kaka will go there soon and ronaldinho

2nd: Man utd are the biggest club in the world with no restrictions to what you can do and achieve as a player.

3rd england have 4 top teams that will start to dominate the champions league even more so (arsenal, man u, chelsea and liverpool)and even everton and totenham are sominatin the euro cup and the italian clubs and spanish clubs are falling behind i feel myself even these english clubs are so young compared to the spanish and itialian, it is great for english football. they cant keep up with the english style of football.

4rd: the clubs in england as well as utd are the most talented squad in the planet. not full of 30 year old used to bes

and lastly. la liga is the 3rd best european league and i don't see why nay player from the top clubs in england and italy would want d go there inless they were pushed out due to not being able to keep their place in the side. i know myself the fans from every low and middle side in la liga they arn't as dedicated and proud of there team to show up at every game even though it is small.

    thank you

as for berbatov i think utd are better off with out him. just need a full right back to replace neville when he goes
