Spurs eye Dutch star

Tottenham are after Ajax defender Urby Emanuelson if you believe the player's agent. Emanuelson is one of the latest in a long list of player's to come through the Ajax youth set-up.

The left-back has quickly made a name for himself in the Dutch league and Champions League as one of the best around and with current Spurs left-back Gareth Bale out injured for a while Spurs boss Juande Ramos may be keen on adding to that department.

"I have been rung, but I referred them to Ajax," Brian Berkleef(the player's agent) told Dutch daily De Telegraaf. "Yes, he certainly sees a move in January as a possibility."

I think it would be a super signing by Spurs because I have seen Emanuelson play a few times now and he certainly looks a hot prospect. It would be interesting to see if Spurs were to sign the player, who in the future, would get their game, Bale or Emanuelson?

Good player but will not be coming! He is concidered one of the hottest prospects in the dutch game -with marco van basten singing his praises as the next big thing- and is contracted until 2011. In addition to this, he is just breaking into the national team and would concider a move to tottenham -where Bale would surely block his progress when fit- as a hinderence to his place in the national team
