Ronaldinho : World's fifth best player, Me Hole!
Barcelona attacking midfielder Ronaldinho has tonight been voted fifth best player in the world for 2007. The results of FIFA's World Player of the Year were announced tonight with AC Milan's Kaka winning the award.
In second was Barcelona's Lionel Messi, with Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo taking third place. Chelsea's Didier Drogba was announced as fourth best player in the world for 2007 and Ronaldinho in fifth.
Ronaldinho won the award in two consecutive years back in 04 and 05 but has been largely disappointing this season. The Brazilian international has been used as a substitute in recent weeks by Barca boss Frank Rijkaard due to a poor spell of form in recent months.
Now I agree with the top four in the awards but to vote Ronaldinho in fifth is absolutely ludicrous. He has been largely disappointing throughout 2007 yet he still makes the top five players in the world.
The decision in my view is largely down to his reputation. He was a quality player back in the seasons of 04/05 and 05/06 but since then he has simply been average. Players like Cesc Fabregas would be much more worthy of receiving this award than Ronaldinho.

Of course hes in the top 5 best in the world.
Barcelona struggle when he is on the bench (check the statistics).
Players like toure, abidal, henry and milito are still adapting to the squad - which is why barcelona aren't playing well away from home (even messi).
Ronaldinho also has five league goals this season and 4 assists and he was la liga's 2nd top scorer and assister 2006-2007 with 22 league goals and 14 assists.
Ronaldinho previously scored 14 with 7 assists in the league 2005-2006 when he was voted the best player in the world.
The only reason why Ronaldinho hasn't won it again is because he isn't doing his tricks and playing entertaining football, but he is definitely effective as ever.

Ronaldinho was amazing back in 04-05 but ever since the world cup he has been terrible.he miss-hits passes, and has lost all of his flair.the only thing he hasn't lost is his kicking ability, hence his large amount of free kick goals. I watch barca all the time and ronaldinho loses the ball more than any other player.I don't think he deserves top 5 this year, let alone top 20.

I think ronaldinho is the best player in the world and he has deformed since 2007 till now but i know he will be back on and you will see how amazing he will be because he is my role model
