Chelsea target £16 million Toffees star !

Chelsea are set to make an approach for Everton striker, Yakubu in the January transfer window according to reports in The Express today.


Yakubu only joined the Merseyside club in August of this year and in the last few games the Nigerian international has started to find the goal scoring form which saw him do so well for his former clubs, Portsmouth and Middlesbrough. The 25 year old has scored 9 goals in thirteen games for the Toffees.

Even though the Blues only signed "The Yak" for £11.25 million a few months ago, I think that with his current goal scoring form that Everton may be able to milk up to £17 million out of Chelsea for their number 22.
But personally I feel that David Moyes should try do his best to hold onto what I think is a world class striker.

    Have they changed the rules for Chelsea? You are not allowed to play for three teams in a year! Jesus do people really believe the crap they put in papers. This rumour has it roots in a comment made by the Chelsea manager went Everton played there a month back. He said I have rated Yakubu, ever since his time in Israel, in a direct response to a question about what strengths do Everton have. End of

    if tevez was worth 30 million,, surely yakubu must be worth 40 million, i would rather keep him at our club and see him score more goals,, no sale sign on this one.

    total and utter rubbish . . . apart form the rules not permitting it why would he want to leave ?
    Some jouno has obviously no other stories to follow up and makes up a story based on a comments made several weeks ago . . .
    Stories about Arteta and Johnson have been thrown around for years and they are both still here and signed 5 year contract extensions . . . Everton are the club to be with at the moment . . .we are going places.
