Spurs eye former Arsenal ace !!!

According to the Daily Star Sunday, Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is lining up a £5 million move for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Julio Baptista. The player who of course used to play for North London rivals, Arsenal, is apparently high on the Spurs boss January shopping list.

Baptista of course used to play under Ramos at Sevilla and he may be interested in a move back to London due to the lack of first team football this season at the Spanish giants. He joined Arsenal in a loan exchange with Jose Antonio Reyes but Arsenal declined against making the deal permanent.

Baptista is a very strong midfielder and I think although he didn't do amazingly well at the Gunners I think he may be able to do a job for Spurs. I think £5 million sounds a pretty reasonable price for the 26-year old. Tottenham may face competition for Baptista's signature from Portuguese side Benfica come the January transfer window.

I think you think Ramos thinks this would be a good buy, but I'm not sure, what do you think?

i think he looked good at times for the gunners, but awful at other times. if ramos thinks he can get more from him then 5m isnt a huge gamble

I think he will be a superb signing for Spurs cos he was probably the worst player we have had at Arsenal for 10 years. Your welcome to him!

Would Deffo improve us, even on some of his terrible Arsenal displays, would be an asset to our team fighting relegation ;)

Clearly Ramos has not seen Baptista play in the EPL - his second touch always being a tackle...

Didn't think he was as bad as he always looked for us. How many players go to Anfield and score four?
Having said that he was shocking at times. He was amazing by all accounts when he played for Sevilla, maybe Ramos knows how to get the best out of him.

which appropiratley leeds me to the other song

if the best could play for arsenal so could I.

he is over rated, slow, wants to much time and spend more time on the floor than drogba, frankly if spurs want him they can have and will be even more of a luaging stock than they all ready are.
