City battle it out with Utd and 'Pool over French star !!!

It has today been reported that Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka could make a return to his former club, Man City in the January transfer window.

The former Arsenal hit man has performed well-over peoples' expectations since his return to the Premiership from Fenerbache in 2006, appearing regularly on the score sheet for the Trotters. However it has become evident even more so this season that the Frenchman is out of place in the Bolton team, which is struggling for it's Premier League survival.

It is clear that Anelka, 28, would be much more at home in the new, resurgent Man City with quality players around him, hence giving him a chance to recreate the wonderful form which he displayed in his Arsenal days.

It has been rumoured that if the deal was to go through that it would be for a fee of around about £14 million, but City will face competition from Liverpool and arch rivals Man Utd for the France internationals signature.

So, if Bolton are to lose their star player I can see the Trotters going only one way this season ....down.
