Chelsea keep pressure on United at the top whilst Fulham live to fight another day

It was an extraordinary day in the Premier League as Chelsea joined Man United on 81 points whilst Fulham remained in touching distance of 17th place with a remarkable win away against Man City.

The early kick-off saw Chelsea run our 2-1 winners in a fiercly contested match against the current league leaders Man United. Michael Ballack scored twice for the Londoners whilst Wayne Rooney brought the sides level for all of 20 minutes.

All in all it was a terrific result for Chelsea and obviously one they really needed. The penalty incident which led to Chelsea's winner was questionable however I feel the linesman probably got it right.

Elsewhere, Fulham kept their hopes of Premier League survival with a 90th minute winner from Diomansy Kamara. The Cottagers went 2-0 down away against Man City but faught to win all three points.

The goals for City were scored by Steven Ireland and Benjani. Fulham's other goals were scored by Danny Murphy and Kamara with a second. A brilliant result for Roy Hodgson's men and this may just spur them on to stay in the top flight, with Pompey and Birmingham to come in the final two games.

Elsewhere it finished : Sunderland 3-2 Middlesbrough, Tottenham 1-1 Bolton, West Ham 2-2 Newcastle, Wigan 0-0 Reading and Birmingham 2-2 Liverpool.
