Spurs win race for £9 million striker !

Spurs have won the race to sign Lyon striker Fred according to reports in The Sun today.

Portsmouth and Spurs were both thought to have bids accepted earlier in the week but in an interview, Pompey manager, Harry Redknapp said, "Fred? Fred who? There is no way we can afford Fred at Lyon." However Middlesbrough have also been strongly linked with the Brazilian striker.

Why do Spurs need to sign a striker who is third choice behind Milan Baros at Lyon , when Defoe and Bent don't get a look in and we have the worst defence in the Premier league.

Rubbish report. There is no way Ramos will be looking to sign another striker during this transfer window when attack has not been our problem.

So we've already signed Fred then have we anonymous 5:16? You may or may not have some inside information but the fact that you back this statement up by saying Wikipedia lists Fred's current club as Spurs makes me doubt you. Anyone can update Wikipedia.

    If we have signed Fred,
    its obvious the useless Defoe
or Berbe or both are out.
