One of Liverpool's biggest mistakes !

One of Liverpool's biggest mistakes, in my opinion, was the sale of full back, Stephen Warnock in 2007 to Blackburn.


£1.5 million, nothing in today's football terms, that's what we sold him for and after seeing him play for Rovers in recent weeks.... What were we thinking ?

I honestly believed that he was one of the best left backs in the Premier League even before he left for Blackburn and I can confidently say that Warnock is better than Riise and at least equal to Arbeloa. It would be unfair to compare him to Aurelio with the Brazilian's Liverpool career being blighted with injuries.

I mean £1.5 million, in a transfer market where average players like Momo Sissoko costs £9 million and John Arne Riise £6 million. It's just unbelieveable what chumps we were to accept that offer for a player of that quality.

    Warnock wanted to leave, you muppet. He's a yellow card waiting to happen and is no where near the quality of Arbeloa or Aurelio.

    the only reason he wanted to leave is coz he wasnt getting enough game time behind the average john arne riise.

    you cant justify either that Arbe or Aurelio are better than him...aurelio has made about 20 appearances in almost 2 years at the club and did you even see the game against boro at the weekend... dont even get me started about how arbe played

    Yes another of Beni's great pieces of business. Give away a quality English left back and bring in sub standard players from Spain. Also if he is not going to play Crouch, sell him and get a goal scorer before even fourth place is beyond them. Hopefully DIC will come in and replace both the Yanks and Benitez as that team will never win the PL.

    Indeed Warnock did want to leave he was barely getting a look in had he got more time on the field they probrably may have opted to keep him and inflate his value.

    I thought Warnock was okay when he was in Liverpool. He likes to attack which is good.

    Not true, you just have to buy them from a club who doesn't appreciate them.

    Every one of them have been sold off cheap and replaced with an expensive flop from .................(insert country of choice)

    Fowler (yes even him), Owen, Murphy, Wright, Welsh, Mellor Warnock.

    Ho well, they won't be the last either.

    Theres nothing but ongoing bullshit happening at the club since the WANKERS from the states took over. Bring in DIC. If its ture that they still wanna buy the club, i say sell it to them, aleast they can afford to build a stadium and give Rafa a open check book.
